Crankees is a punk band from Sydney, Australia. Each member has played in many other bands. Formed in 2021 and forced into an almost immediate hiatus by the infamous novel coronavirus, Crankees started playing live in March 2022. Within six months, they released the Punch the Boss b/w Down the Coast 7 inch (Evil Tone Records), and a four-song cassette tape (Lucky Ones, self-released).

Settle Down (2024) is their first LP. Recorded by David Akerman at Lost Sound Recording Studio, the record makes some diversions from the straight up rock and roll they’ve become (kind of) known for, with tracks like More Than A Fool seeing the band dance with their emotions just a little bit.

Crankees has played with Guitar Wolf, Hard Ons, Zeke, Dark Thoughts, and with some of Sydney’s sickest bands.
