Wayne Connolly is a Sydney based performer and music producer.

Usually found at a mixing console or out front of the sonically intimidating Knievel, he brings his acoustic solo show juggernaut to Newtown this November 21 for a special show at The Midnight Special.

Wayne is lead singer of Sydney band Knievel and was also a founding member of The Welcome Mat. He has performed at times with several other bands including Tactics, Apartments and Fragile.

As a studio producer, he has worked with the likes of The Vines, Josh Pike, Babe Rainbow, Hoodoo Gurus, Paper Kites, Julia Jacklin, You Am I, Youth Group and Cloud Control.

Songs from the catalogues of Knievel and The Welcome Mat will feature as well as a few covers and tracks by bands that Wayne has been associated with. The chances of a special guest are not being ruled out at this stage.

It promises to be a night of acoustic mayhem - tempered slightly by the fact it is only a Thursday night. Rick Saunders of The Melodrones with be playing as support.
